COLD LAKE - A vehicle crash on the southern outskirts of Cold Lake on Tuesday afternoon that claimed the life of a Cold Lake man was likely the result of a medical issue, say RCMP.
Cold Lake RCMP and emergency crews were called to the south entrance of the city on Highway 28 just after 5 p.m. Jan. 30, responding to reports of a single-vehicle crash. At the scene, responders say the lone occupant of the vehicle was unresponsive. Despite life-saving measures, the 47-year-old Cold Lake man was declared deceased on scene.
After a preliminary investigation, it is believed the deceased suffered a major health event that resulted in the crash.
In a media statement released on Wednesday, Alberta RCMP are offering condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
