St. Paul Fish and Game fundraiser supports community projects and events

The St. Paul Fish and Game Association’s (SPFGA) 30th annual supper and auction on April 27 raised money for various projects and events.

ST. PAUL – The St. Paul Fish and Game Association’s (SPFGA) 30th annual supper and auction on April 27 raised money for various projects and events. The well-attended fundraiser saw over 200 people in attendance to support the association.

Dave Doonanco, SPFGA president, says money raised from the fundraiser will go to some of its initiatives, like its library book program where they provide books to local school libraries, or birdhouse projects with schools.

“We [also] have a scholarship that goes to a student... who is going to study biological sciences or wildlife enforcement [in post-secondary],” adds Doonanco.

They also support groups like the Narrow Lake Conservation Centre. During the summer, the centre holds the Narrow Lake Youth Conservation Camp (NLYCC).

“They teach kids about firearm safety, fishing, hunting, and those sorts of things,” says Doonanco.

He thanked all those who showed up for the fundraiser.

“We get a lot of support from the community, and we really appreciate that."

A final amount raised was not yet available.
