Canada can book its tickets to Qatar.

The Canadian Men's National soccer team beat Jamaica today 4-0 in Toronto; with the three points earned in the win they've mathematically clinched a spot in the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar later this year.

Canada scored early in the game, at the 13-minute mark, and held on to the lead for the rest of the game.

The qualifying tournament has gone well for the Canadian side, as they were undefeated until Thursday, March 24, when they lost 1-0 to Costa Rica in the Central American country's capital. Before that Canada had beat or drawn every other team, including big wins against top-ranked CONCACAF teams Mexico and the USA which saw the team retain first place.

They have one more game against Panama in Panama this Wednesday, March 30.

It's the first time since 1986 that Canada has qualified for what is arguably the biggest sporting tournament in the world. That was the only trip the Canadian men's team made to the World Cup, and they left without a goal or even a tie.

There are higher hopes this time around as excitement has built over the last year during the 2022 qualifying tournament.

It's already known that Canada will attend the 2026 World Cup, as it'll be co-hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada.
