BONNYVILLE – Spectators of the Duclos School Christmas concert commented on the beautiful voices of the choir and how wonderfully the performers played their parts.

Vice Principal Morgan Ferbey said the children practiced diligently leading up to the performance.

“We always a mix of a play and also our live performances. It’s always our Grade 4s who audition for the parts, and our music teacher Heather Hebert goes over and makes sure that the kids are comfortable speaking in front of an audience,” said Ferbey.

Ferbey commented on how big the crowd was and that the children did incredibly well.

“Last week, our gym shut down and we spent a lot of time rehearsing . . . It’s a big build up and Heather does an incredible job – she wants everything to be pristine . . . It’s impressive watching the kids,” said Ferbey.

Children waved to their parents and gave an exuberant grand finale which garnered applause as parents tried to capture videos of their children performing.

“If we have anything that needs fine tuning, we will call the kids in until it’s well done. That’s what everyone wants to see, that the kids have put in the effort. And Parents love when the concerts are no more than an hour, so our music teacher is amazing at keeping everyone on time,” said Ferbey.
