A small crowd gathered at the Philip-Ménard Cultural Centre in Plamondon on November 16 to celebrate a big achievement – the 42nd annual Plamondon Harvest Festival.

The evening that celebrates the hard work of area farmers included a meal, drinks and local music. Those who attended the event were treated to musical performances by Brayden Gates, Roger Dallaire and Daniel Gervais, who took to the stage for a concert as part of this year’s festival.

The harvest festival was hosted by the Plamondon branch of the French-Canadian Association of Alberta (L’ACFA).

Natasha Plamondon, the director for the L’ACFA regional Plamondon-Lac La Biche office, said the annual festival-which has become part of the culture and traditions of Plamondon-pays tribute to local agricultural producers.

“This event is to celebrate all our farmers and their families as harvest season comes to an end for them,” she told Lakeland This Week.
