LAC LA BICHE - The first games of the new year re-started the 2023-24 minor hockey season for teams across the region over the weekend.

Saturday’s match-up between the Lac La Biche U13-2 Clippers and the visiting Wainwright Bisons was largely a one-sided contest. The Clippers, who hold seventh spot in their nine-team North Eastern Alberta Hockey League (NEAHL) East division, dropped a 14-1 decision to the fourth place Bisons.

The Clippers take to the ice at the Bold Centre again on Jan. 12, when they host the community rival Plamondon Cougars.

Game time for that local match-up is 6 p.m.

On Jan. 13, the Clippers will be travelling to St. Paul to face off against the U13 Canadiens.
