LAC LA BICHE - The Lac La Biche Lakers enjoyed a 7-3 win over the visiting Vulcan Rampage in front of a hometown crowd at the Bold Center on Oct. 18. Their next games are October 25 and 26.

In the October 18 game, the Lakers stayed off the scoreboard during the first period, with the Rampage taking a 2-0 lead into the second period.

However, Lac La Biche quickly turned the situation around.

Zach Beinert and Patrick Bourque scored one goal each to tie the game before the end of the second period.

The game-winner came just two minutes into the third frame on a goal from Raiden Perkins, assisted by Taiven Makokis and Patrick Bourque. The floodgates opened after that, with the home team going on to score four more goals to finish with the  7-3 win.

It’s been a challenging season so far for the Lac La Biche Lakers, who have only had two wins since the start of their inaugural season in the National Junior Hockey League (NJHL) in late September, and currently hold last place in the five-team NJHL North Division.

The Lakers hit the ice again on Friday, Oct. 25 for an away game against the Gibbons Pioneers. The two teams meet again on Oct. 26 for a 7 p.m. rematch at the Bold Center.
