On July 2, a week after the minor baseball season wrapped up in Lac La Biche, the Lac La Biche Mixed Slo-Pitch League took to the ball diamonds at the Bold Centre to kick off its season.
This year, there are 10 teams comprised of local recreational players. Game nights are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30 – 9 p.m. while Mondays and Thursdays will be available for postponed games.
The opening night featured a double header with AMC and The Dirty Dozen going against each other in field one, Smooth Operators and Cousins in Dozens played in field three.
This year's mixed slow-pitch league will finish on Sept. 6 with a weekend tournament. The league is organized each year by Lac La Biche County recreation staff.
