Referee Major headlines officiating crew that will work Grey Cup on Sunday

VANCOUVER — Referee Ben Major headlines the officiating crew that will work the Grey Cup game Sunday.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers meet the Toronto Argonauts at B.C. Place Stadium to decide this year's CFL champion.

Major will work his eighth Grey Cup. The 19-year veteran official has appeared in 335 games.

The umpire will be Adam Paradowski, who will appear in his first Grey Cup. Paradowski is in his 11th season as a CFL official and has worked 160 games.

This will mark the fourth Grey Cup for down judge Chris Shapka, a 10-year veteran who has appeared in 172 games. Line judge Walt Hawrysh, in his eighth season, will be in his second Grey Cup.

The remainder of the staff will consist of side judge Iain Cropper (eighth season, first Grey Cup), back judge Kevin Riopel (seventh season, second Grey Cup) and field judge Brian Chrupalo (19th season, seventh Grey Cup). Andre Proulx (26th season, 10th Grey Cup) is the backup referee while Jordan Titosky (eighth season, first Grey Cup) and Rob Skaggs (22nd season, seventh Grey Cup) are the backup officials.

The off-field officiating staff will consist of Darren Hackwood, the league's vice-president, officiating; Laurence Pontbriand, senior manager, football and officiating development; Carey Anderson, supervisor, officiating; Al Bradbury, manager, officiating and replay official; and video officials Dave Foxcroft and Andy Fantuz.
