PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Borya Valis had two goals and an assist and Riley Heidt had a goal and three assists as the Prince George Cougars beat the visiting Tri-City Americans 5-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday at the CN Centre.

Koehn Ziemmer and Matteo Danis also scored for the Cougars (28-15-3-2), who outshot the visitors 33-23.

Max Curran and Jaxen Adam scored for the Americans (23-20-4-1), who led 1-0 after the first period but trailed 2-1 heading into the third.

The Americans went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Cougars were 1-for-4.
