ST. PAUL – On July 17, the Diocese of St. Paul honoured its 75th anniversary, drawing parishioners from across the diocese.

Bishop Gary Franken said the event "went beautifully.” The evening began with the blessing of the newly installed "Come to the Well" monument located in front of the Villa Maria Pastoral Centre, which was designed by local artist Eric Spoeth, and built to commemorate the anniversary.

Followed by the blessing, Franken said he was glad to see the Saint Paul Cathedral well occupied by parishioners. Also, “We had three visiting bishops, including our Bishop Emeritus Paul Terrio.”

He thanked all those who made the trip and were a part of the celebration. “It’s great that we can be together.”

Moving forward, the diocese is hopeful for the future.

“We look forward to the next 75 years, especially by way of disciples making disciples... reaching out to another and belonging together to the Body of Christ,” said Franken.
