MS Society streaks again

The MS Society is gearing up for the annual MS walk with early registration at the Co-op Mall on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Hair stylists will be on hand to streak the hair colour of registrants and anyone who wants to show support for the cause.

People planning on joining the walk can register, enter early bird draws, or go for a dunk in the dunk tank in preparation for the fundraising walk on May 7. The MS Society will also register people for the new half marathon event on Saturday.

The MS Society also encourages anyone who stops by and wants to go for a dunk to sign up on Saturday, or to take a shot at dunking area politicians and community members.

Harry Plouffe, an MS Society advisory council member, Tim Bear, with St. Paul Abilities Network, Russell Klyne from Co-op, and Rene Van Brabant, a Bonnyville Town councillor, had signed up for the dunk tank by press time.

“This registration kick-off event with the streaking of the hair and a dunk tank is part of how we help people register for the walk, raise awareness about MS and have some fun,” said Gail Plouffe with the MS Society office in St. Paul

Money raised through the MS walk goes to funding MS research and to running support programs in the area.

People can also register for the walk or run and have hair streaked at the A & W in Bonnyville between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
