ST. PAUL - The Rodeo Mile was back in this year's rodeo week line-up, and attracted upwards of 70 racers.
The event was a long-time staple, taking place prior to the rodeo parade on Saturday morning, but had not taken place since 2019. St. Paul Regional High School has taken over organization of the event, which has previously been organized by the Northeast Alberta Track Club.
First up, the youngest runners took part in the quarter-mile run. Coming in first in the girls' category was Sadie Zarowny, followed by Ryelle Sundt in second, and Vivienne Agnemark in third place.
On the boys' side, first place went to Avery Looy, followed by Reiker Yaremchuk in second place, and Taylor Ranger in third place.
In the one-mile race, coming in first in the ladies' category was Shelby Sundt, followed by Bowen Pilipchuk in second, and Julia Pilupchuk in third place.
In the men's category, Kirk Sundt took first place, followed by Dustin Dubrule, and Matthew Zarowny in third place.
