QMJHL roundup: Campbell superb as Islanders tip Mooseheads 4-1

CHARLOTTETOWN — Ross Campbell had a goal and two assists and netminder Donald Hickey made 27 saves as the Charlottetown Islanders defeated the visiting Halifax Mooseheads 4-1 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Friday night at the Eastlink Centre.

Nathan Leek, Jude Herron and Simon Hughes also scored for the Islanders (12-15-2-1), who outshot the visitors 36-28. Both teams started the game tied for last spot in the Maritimes Division with 25 points apiece.

Cole MacLeod scored for the Mooseheads (10-15-5-0), who were tied 1-1 after the first period but trailed 2-1 heading into the third.

The Mooseheads went 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Islanders were 0-for-2.

Ty Peddigrew and Colby Huggan scored for the Titan (18-11-1-0), who tied the game 2-2 at 18:52 of the third period to force overtime.
