BONNYVILLE – Spring football saw a massive turnout in the Lakeland this year, which was on full display at Walsh Field on May 27.
The one-day Spring Football Jamboree hosted bantam teams from the Bonnyville Bandits, Cold Lake Ravens and St. Paul Bengals.
With an increase of Grade 7, 8 and 9 players participating in spring football, both the Bandits and the Bengals had two teams taking part in the jamboree.
This spring, 65 players joined the Bonnyville Bandits' spring football league. Most of those athletes played in jamboree and are expected to return to the team for the fall football season.
During the jamboree, each team got 12 offensive downs starting at the 40-yard line before the ball was turned over to the other team.
This cycle happened twice per game, giving players and coaches the opportunity to hone their skills on the field.
