Over the Oct. 18 weekend, the Portage College Voyageurs men’s and women’s soccer squads wrapped up their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference soccer seasons with their last two games. Both teams finished the season with back-to-back losses, dropping games to the Lakeland Rustlers and Keyano College Huskies.

The Voyageur men, who achieved two wins during the 2024 season, dropped a 5-1 decision to the Rustlers in Lloydminster on Saturday, Oct. 19, and were defeated in a close 2-1 match that played out on the Bold Center sports fields on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Voyageurs centre back Daniel Hyrsky, who with the assistance of teammate Dominic Douglas, scored the team’s only goal of Saturday’s contest in Lloydminster with a strike from outside the box.

When the men returned to home turf the following day, Douglas assisted Maxwell Bazil with securing the Voyageurs onto the scoreboard for the team’s last goal of the 2024 season.
