Sunset ride. A bronc rider is back-lit by a smoky Friday night as the first night of the Lakeland Country Fair's opening-night rodeo went well past dusk.
Heather Dempsey, a retired music teacher from Lac La Biche, entertained the large crowd who took in the Lakeland Country Fair on Friday. Playing the role of a wandering minstrel, Dempsey travelled amongst the packed house at the farmer's market, the Celtic inspired musical sounds coming from her flute filling the air.

The first of two rodeo nights in the Lakeland Country Fair weekend took over the Lac La Biche Agricultural Grounds on Friday. 

 

The Billy McDonald Rodeo company brought the first of two night shows to the Lac La Biche Agriculture Grounds on Friday. The rodeo which ran until past 11 pm followed a day of activity at the Agricom building, including the Lakeland Country Fair horticulture show, live music and the weekly Farmers' Market.

The Saturday events at the Country Fair started at noon and ran to 5 pm. Events included the continuation of farmers market, live music, children's activities and the much-anticipated Wife Carrying Race. 

 

Saturday's rodeo starts again on Saturday at 7pm.
