Lac La Biche welcomes rodeo afternoon

Horses and riders — some ready for the next event, some just watching from a comfy high seat waited near the rodeo gates.
Bullfighter Ricky Ticky Wanchuk is a long-time crowd favourite. The 70-year old rodeo regular works with his son Casey to churn up the laughs while the hooves churn up the dirt.
Lac La Biche's Kacen Nowicki, a new rider this year, scored a 68 on his junior steer ride.

Mini bronc rider Rocky Squair was a busy cowboy on Saturday. The Clyde cowboy was in the mini-bronc and junior steer riding events. Other members of the Squair clan were in other rodeo events as well.

The Billy McDonald Summer rodeo series kicked-off with the Lac La Biche opener on Saturday. It was the first sanctioned rodeo to rough-up the dirt at the Lac La Biche Ag Grounds in more than a year.
