LAKELAND - The Bonnyville U13 Black Widows and the Vermilion Strikers were battling in Lakeland District Soccer Association league play on Tuesday night in Bonnyville — a warm-up to the Phoenix FC invitational tournament in Sherwood Park over the May 24 weekend. The Widows (in white) won the league game 5-1.

The teams will be among more than 50 squads from across northern Alberta in the U11 to U19 categories at the Phoenix FC event. The Sherwood Park weekend draws teams in the Tier 4 to 7 levels.
