BEIJING – Canada is flexing its mixed doubles muscle early after three consecutive victories at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
As of Friday (Feb. 4) at 10:30 a.m., the curling duo of Canmore's John Morris and Beaumont's Rachel Homan is tied in second (3-1) with Great Britain and Sweden in the round robin tournament. At 4-0, Italy is the only undefeated team.
"Every game out there was tough, but that’s what mixed doubles is all about," said Canmore's Morris in a blog post on Curling Canada. "It’s going to be a grind, but we’re always ready to grind it out when we have that Maple Leaf on our backs."

On Feb. 2, Canada dropped its opening game 6-4 to Great Britain before reeling off three straight against Norway (7-6), Switzerland (7-5) and China (8-6).

Canada has five games remaining including against Sweden on Feb. 4 at 11 p.m.; U.S.A. on Feb. 5 at 5 a.m.; Czech Republic on Feb. 5 at 11 p.m.; Australia on Feb. 6 at 5 a.m.; and Italy on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. All times MST.
The top four teams advance to the semifinals on Monday (Feb. 7) at 5 a.m. MST.
