CHERRY GROVE - The Lakeland Gymkhana Association came to Cherry Grove to host an event for all ages on Sept. 7-8.

"Hosting these small family events is what gets us all together throughout the summer," said event organizer Chantelle Ayers.

"We watch the little kids grow into teens who then start to run faster than the adults. Our daughter started when she was just a year old. Now she is 14 and running the same time as some of our adults," continued Ayers.

Ayers reports that riders age ranged from two to 65+.

"My parents Garry and Karyn Ayers have donated their hay field for this new arena. We put it up in June with help from our family and friends," said Ayers.

This year, the Lakeland Gymkhana Association has prize buckles for the top rider in each category, plus prize money for the top six riders in each category.

Ayers says the Lakeland Gymkhana Association ran nine events this season.

She expressed her gratitude for the sponsors who make these events happen, as well as the volunteers.
