Police say security staff at Bonnyville hospital assaulted after man refuses to leave

BONNYVILLE - A man is being charged following a report of a hospital security staff member being assaulted at the Bonnyville hospital on Nov. 25.

Police were called to the healthcare centre at 10:40 p.m. where staff reported a patient who had been discharged refused to leave the facility. The person then allegedly assaulted the security staff.

"An arrest warrant was issued for the male, who was arrested the next morning," according to information from Bonnyville RCMP. 

Dustin Yellowbird, 27, of Pigeon Lake is charged with assault, uttering threats and mischief over $5,000. He was brought before a Justice of the Peace who set bail at $2,000 and set a court date of Dec. 17.
