LAC LA BICHE - On the afternoon of Aug. 15, construction crews were busy excavating and repairing a fire hydrant on Nipewon Road in Lac La Biche.

During the work period, a portion of Nipewon Road was reduced to one lane of traffic.

Jihad Moghrabi, a spokeperson with Lac La Biche County, stated that the hydrant repairs are now complete and traffic is reopened to two lanes. However, he added, crews will still be working within close proximity of the curb and road to complete the final backfill and sidewalk replacement over the next few days.

Lac La Biche County advised drivers to obey all flag-persons and signage when travelling in the area. The County also notified the public that, due to the nearby water hydrant repairs, the RV trailer dump located on Nipewon Road would be temporarily out of service.
