If you thought the big plumes of white and brown smoke billowing from north of Lac La Biche lake were from farmers burning brush-piles — you were right.

The big smoke plumes could be seen for most of Sunday afternoon northeast of the Lac La Biche hamlet.

POST smoke-chasers found the source — three large piles on a private property just east of the old Owl River Store.
