On Saturday afternoon, crews with Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue Service responded to a brush grass fire that occurred in a section of forest between 94 Ave and 99 Ave in the Dumasfield neighbourhood.

According to John Mondal, a captain with Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue Service, three trucks responded. Crews attacked the head of the small blaze in a bid to prevent it from spreading any further, and were able to get it under control and mopped up, although it did leave its mark in the form of charred ground in the stands of aspen trees dotting the area. Fire crews also responded to a similar incident in the Deer Meadows area on Saturday.
