Lac La Biche fire crews stop car fire from spreading to hotel

LAC LA BICHE - At around 8 p.m. on the evening of Oct. 19, members of Lac La Biche Fire Rescue Services responded to a vehicle fire that occurred near the front of the Almac Hotel located on 101 Ave. in Lac La Biche.

John Kokotilo, the regional fire chief for Lac La Biche County, stated that crews used water and foam-as well as one attack line-to extinguish the the fire. After the fire was knocked down, members who responded to the incident used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. 

Kokotilo continued by saying that Lac La Biche RCMP took command and contacted the owner to have the vehicle towed. 

He explained that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, although it is not being deemed suspicious at this time.
