Santa will be taking a ride with Lac La Biche County Community Peace Officers on Tuesday, a pre-flight ride-along before his Christmas Eve official visit.

Lac La Biche County officials say Santa reached out to them to say he was hoping to roll through the area for a little visit from 5 pm. to 8 pm.

Municipal officials say peace officers will be driving Father Christmas around the area, giving families a chance to wave to the jolly elf.

"Santa would like to remind residents that he won’t be able to approach anyone, but will be waving from a Peace Officer vehicle," said the county's communications manager Jihad Moghrabi. "Residents are reminded to physically distance and stay at the side of your property, or stand physically-distanced on a sidewalk near your residence."

Online map expected soon

Lac La Biche County staff are currently working on an online mapping schedule that is hoped to show the rolling visit in real-time so neighbourhoods can come out to see the visitor.

Those who don't have access to the map will likely hear the sirens and see the lights as the peace officers do all they can to show-off the special visitor.

Information on the visit can be found at the Lac La Biche County website and social media page
