LAC LA BICHE - The midway for Lac La Biche Summer Days 2024 looked a bit different than it has in previous years.
While the various rides, games, and concessions were similar to recent years, those attractions were set up in the parking lot of the Bold Centre, sharing space with the construction site of the community’s new $44.9 million aquatic centre, slated to open by mid-2026.
Despite the location of this year’s midway, people still turned out to enjoy the amusements. During last year's Lac La Biche Summer Days, the midway rides were set up on a privately-owned residential lot along 103 Street in the vicinity of Aurora Middle School and the Lac La Biche Al-Kareem Mosque.
However, for this year, it was decided to move this component of the long-running August long weekend festival to the Bold Centre.
