The baseball season started for the newest local team last week as the new U15 AA Lac La Biche Dodgers faced-down the U18 Dodgers of the Lac La Biche Minor Ball Association.

The exhibition game between the two teams at the Aurora Middle School baseball diamond kicked-off the local minor baseball season. The U15 AAs won their opening match.

While most teams are ready for the season, cooler weather through the last week halted most practice times for minor baseball, softball and T-ball teams.

Across the league, official are continuing to hold open registration for some of the teams, still hoping for full rosters in all age categories of the minor ball system.

In Plamondon, officials with the Plamondon Minor Ball Association filled all of their teams' coaching spots at the end of the week, and are ready for softball, baseball and Tim-bit games to get rolling.  Plamondon Minor Ball is a also hosting a skills camp for players U9 and up at the beginning of May.
