Thank You, Road to Hope

I want to thank Road to Hope for helping me get to Edmonton for my cancer treatments.  I am thanking these “Angels from Heaven” for volunteering their time and vehicles to help me and others with cancer in the Lac La Biche County and Athabasca County. These wonderful volunteers donate their time and the wear-and-tear on their vehicles to get me to my appointments/treatments in Edmonton.

For the time I spend with them going back and forth, I forget I have cancer, and get a reminder of a life that is not cancer related.  We talk about politics, our families, memories of things we did as children, the economy and all sorts of things.

When I call the office or go to see them, the Road to Hope office staff are professional and easy to talk to.

Road to Hope is not government funded but is funded by the kindness and generosity of the people who support and donate to this non-profit organization. I would ask that anyone who is not supporting Road to Hope to look into their hearts and see if they can donate some money to this great organization.

I am not asking for me, I am asking for you and your families; my cancer is not hereditary. I was not sick but felt the strongest and healthiest ever when they found my cancer. This could happen to you, your parents, your children and grandchildren. This cancer is not limited to women and can hit anyone without warning.

I appreciate and am grateful for all of you who support and/or are involved with Road to Hope, including but not limited to the staff, the drivers and the families of the drivers that allow their spouses to take time out of their family life to make my life easier and to help me relax during this stress and uncertainty I am going through now.

Once again, thank you, and God bless you.

Sheila Tubman,

Lac La Biche
