Truckfill stations in Mallaig and Ashmont temporarily closed

ST. PAUL – The truckfill stations in Mallaig and Ashmont temporarily closed on July 9 due to low water levels in the reservoirs, according to the County of St. Paul.

“This is a temporary measure to avoid the risk of the plants running too low. We are continuing to monitor levels, hoping to reopen later this afternoon,” reads an announcement from the County.

The County is hoping to re-open them later this afternoon on July 10.

Coun. Dale Hedrick reminds the public that a non-potable raw water fill station opened south of Ashmont.

He says he is hopeful that more people are aware about the raw water, which would be cheaper to use for cattle, for example. “The more people use the raw water truck fill, hopefully we won’t have this situation again,” says Hedrick.
