Strathmore- In a Friday afternoon update on the shooting investigation which claimed the life of an Airdrie resident earlier this month, the RCMP announced it will now offer $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect still at large.

Alberta RCMP stated that Elijah Blake Strawberry, who is charged with second-degree murder, is still actively being searched for.

Strathmore RCMP Sergeant Mark Wielgosz said CrimeStoppers is also still offering a $2,000 reward for tips leading to Strawberry’s arrest.

“Law enforcement response teams and the provincial sheriffs are still actively searching for Elijah Blake Strawberry in connection to the murder of Colin John Huff of Airdrie,” said Wielgosz.

Strawberry is believed to be in Alberta, according to Wielgosz, but Saskatchewan and British Columbia RCMP are actively assisting with the investigation as well.

“The decision to offer $10,000 for any information leading to Mr Elijah Blake Strawberry's arrest is not something that happens often, but it does demonstrate the RCMP’s commitment to follow all avenues available to find Mr Strawberry in a timely manner,” said Wielgosz.

Strawberry is described as light complexion, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 169 pounds, with several arm and face tattoos and brown hair. Strawberry is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach, dial 911 immediately.

Upon the arrest of Elijah Blake Strawberry, the determination of entitlement to the reward will be made by the RCMP commanding officer, in its sole discretion. Such a decision is final, binding, and not reviewable by a Court of Law according to a release.

Only those persons who come forward with information which is received by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or other legitimate law enforcement agency involved in the investigation between August 23 till August 30, 2024, will be considered for a reward. Any person or persons having information regarding Elijah Blake Strawberry are asked to communicate that information immediately to the Strathmore RCMP at 403-934-3535 or call 911.
