Man arrested after stabbing in Northern Alberta

At approximately 12:45 p.m today, Westlock RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence.

The Alberta RCMP have issued a dangerous person alert for the suspect in a stabbing in Westlock County this afternoon. RCMP are saying the suspect in the incident, Tanner Nelson is on foot, armed with a knife and considered extremely dangerous.

Alberta RCMP have cancelled the dangerous person alert for Westlock County. The suspect, Tanner Nelson has been apprehended.

Background:

The Alberta RCMP issued an emergency alert for a dangerous person after a stabbing in Westlock County this afternoon. 

At approximately 12:45 p.m today, Westlock RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence located off Highway 44, near Township road 603 in Westlock County.

The suspect, Tanner Nelson, is thought to be on foot, armed with a knife, and considered extremely dangerous.

Nelson is 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and was wearing a black shirt, grey pants and a hat.

RCMP are telling the public not to open the door to strangers or pick up hitchhikers. 

 If you see Nelson, do not approach, and report all sightings to 911.
