CANMORE – Police are investigating after an Alberta Health Services vehicle had the air let out of two of its tires.
The Canmore RCMP said in a release their investigation believes it was an intentional act “to disable the emergency vehicle.”
The caps to the valve stems were removed and the passenger tires were completed deflated, police said. The vehicle was parked on Spring Creek Drive and it took place between 9 and 10:45 a.m., police said.
“Our community relies on the ability of all emergency services to respond promptly to calls for service,” the release stated. “In this case, we are fortunate that no one was put in jeopardy because of this criminal act.”
A Facebook post on the Canmore Fire Fighters Association first mentioned the alleged act, which generated significant amount of scorn from commenters.
“Well Canmore we are at a new low… Not sure why someone would let the air out of the tires on a Emergency Response Vehicle. #notcool #hopeyourlovedonedoesnotneedus,” the published post stated.
