Golf cart crash at Alberta golf course lands man in hospital

Fifty-year-old man in golf cart crash Saturday airlifted from Canmore to Calgary hospital with life threatening injuries.

KANANASKIS – A man in his 50s involved in a golf cart collision in Kananaskis Country Saturday (Aug. 3) was transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) EMS responded to a report of the incident involving a single golf cart at the Kananaskis Country Golf Course around 5:30 p.m.

“On arrival, paramedics assumed care of the single occupant adult driver of the golf cart who’d sustained a loss of control and subsequent collision,” said AHS EMS public education officer Stuart Brideaux in an email.

“The precise incident was unwitnessed, however, bystanders heard the collision and responded immediately.”

Paramedics treated the man on scene while waiting for a STARS air ambulance to arrive.

STARS confirmed in an email that the man was flown to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
