E-bike crash south of Calgary leaves rider with life-threatening injuries

An adult has life-threatening injuries after an incident on an e-bike west of Diamond Valley.

One person has life-threatening injuries after an e-bike crash near Diamond Valley, almost 70 kilometres southwest of Calgary.

Emergency crews responded to Highway 546 at 208 Street West, west of the town, at about 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 31., an EMS spokesperson said.

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue said an e-bike lost control and crashed, and no other vehicles were involved.

The injured person, an adult, was flown to Foothills Hospital in Calgary by STARS, and Hwy. 546. was closed.

Witnesses to the accident provided first aid until paramedics arrived, the fire department said.

The highway reopened to traffic shortly after 2 p.m.
