WESTLOCK – Police are still searching for the fourth suspect charged in the attempted murder of an 18-year-old woman found badly beaten and left for dead near Long Island Lake in September.
RCMP are also still searching for the victim’s vehicle, a 2010 Green Mini-Cooper with Alberta license plate CPL-5715.
“The car has not been recovered,” Cst. Cory Riggs, public information officer for Alberta RCMP said in an email.
Four youth, who can’t be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are charged with attempted murder, robbery, threats to cause death, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
In September three youth were arrested and In November Westlock RCMP issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a fourth youth.
The youth hasn’t been apprehended but RCMP weren’t able to provide the public with the youth’s name or description.
“There is nothing to indicate that [he] left the country at this time,” said Riggs.
The Crown is seeking to have the youth sentenced as adults if convicted.
One of the youths is seeking bail and a hearing is expected to be held in Westlock Court of Justice on Jan. 8.
