Trinity Christian School and Wisdom Home School Association announced on Wednesday that legal documentation has been filed with the Court of Queen's Bench in attempt to reopen their school after being closed on Oct. 25 by Alberta Education.
On Nov. 2, Trinity Christian School Association and Wisdom Home School Association stated they would be filing for an injunction requiring Alberta Education to reinstate funding and accreditation to the school, which if successful, would allow the association to once again serve the 3,500 families within their organization.
On Oct. 25, Alberta Education closed the school after an audit conducted revealed Wisdom had retained over one million in unclaimed parent funding over the past three years, and had unveiled issues regarding the associations senior management and related-party transactions such as terms of employment contracts, terms of leases with related parties, babysitting and funeral expenses, and double dipping of milage.
