The Alberta Mounted Shooters Association will be hosting a unique shooting event called the Outlaws Paradise Shoot this upcoming weekend at the Paradise Acres Ranch, 10 minutes northwest of St. Albert.

While this is the first time this event has been hosted at the Paradise Acres Ranch it is not the first event of its kind. The Cowboy Minted shooters club hosts many events all over Western Canada.

The event is a timed competition and will consist of people riding horses through patterns and shooting black powder bullets with real Colt 45 guns at targets while riding. The event is also opens to kids of all ages. However, the kids do not shoot real guns but instead shoot air guns at the targets while riding through the same patterns as the adults. It's an event for everyone stated one of the Paradise Acres Ranch owners, Lee Brochu.

"It's an event to get people together. It's a whole lot of fun and good competition."

The event is for kids of all ages, he said.

"People should come see what these kids can do. It's tons of fun and very family oriented."

The event is free to anyone who wishes to attend. There will also be food and drinks available throughout the event.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 and the events will begin at 10 a.m. and run the whole weekend.
