BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville Municipal Library is making an effort to not only offer an array of free and fun programs and events for children, but also offer events for adults to enjoy.

Assistant programmer Veronique Moreau, said part of the reason she was brought on board with the Bonnyville Library was to help facilitate more programs and activities for the public, and they are always open to feedback.

“We are always looking for suggestions - for adults, tweens, kids . . . we also go to Bonnylodge and the Hive,” said Moreau.

One such program was the tie-dyeing workshop for adults held on Nov. 5.

Entering the library, one could hear the gentle conversations and laughter as the group socialized and worked at their tie-dye crafts.

Attendee Jo-Anne Cooper splashed her fabric with turquoise dye and spoke to how important it is for a community to have a “third living room.”

“People have their homes, and they go to work, but it’s important for communities to have a communal space that they can come to and share,” said Cooper.

The Bonnyville Library offered attendees a canvas tote bag to tie-dye, but people were welcome to bring items from home that they wanted to tie-dye.

There are several adult focused programs coming up at the Bonnyville Library including a movie night, a board game night, and a book club.
