BONNYVILLE - Alicia Krawchuk, Bonnyville’s new Regional Chief of Emergency Services, has served in various leadership roles within the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) for 12 years. She has watched the organization grow and strengthen across all divisions and is looking forward to being part of the organization's continued growth.
“During my time as interim regional chief, I became determined to see that momentum continue to progress forward for the benefit of the community and all members of the BRFA,” says Krawchuk.
Krawchuk is excited to take on her new role of Regional Chief of Emergency Services.
“It is an honour to assume the role of Regional Chief of Emergency Services for the BRFA and to continue growing and strengthening the organization from the solid foundation that has been established through the visions of the Regional Chiefs before me,” says Krawchuk.
The BRFA is a unique organization with three divisions of emergency services operating under a regionalized system, 911, emergency medical services (EMS), and the fire department.
“The natural and industrial diversity of the region poses unique challenges that our emergency services must remain prepared for. I want to see the BRFA continue to excel, succeed and grow by supporting the members and strengthening relationships within the community,” says Krawchuk.
She has a list of priorities for the BRFA including enhancing services with technology and innovation, ensuring her team has the resources, training, and support to excel in providing vital services, promoting recruitment and retention across all roles including volunteers, and fostering collaboration and strengthening relationships across the organization, allied service partners, and community.
Speaking about the BRFA’s move to the new North Star building, she says it has been an exciting time for the organization. The building provides a modern, collaborative space for Fire, 911, EMS and administration.
“Moving everyone under one roof will streamline operations and promote greater teamwork and camaraderie among our teams. I am incredibly proud of our dedicated teams who serve our community with the highest level of professionalism,” said Krawchuk,
With the addition of the new Chief Administrative Officer Darren Sandbeck, Krawchuk says this new role will allow her to focus on enhancing and streamlining operational divisions.
“I look forward to working with our CAO . . . His leadership on the administrative side will add significant value to our operations as we navigate the BRFA into the future,” says Krawchuk.
The regional chief is dedicated to both the BRFA team and her community.
“I am looking forward to this exciting new chapter of the BRFA as we work collaboratively to enhance our service to the community.”
