ARDMORE – The MD of Bonnyville released a statement regarding a load reduction of a bridge located on Township road 623 east of Range road 431.

“Due to the age and current condition of the bridge, this decision is effective immediately,” stated the MD.

The bridge load has been reduced to three tonnes, meaning heavy trucks including fire and ambulance will not be able to cross the bridge, though Reeve Barry Kalinski explained that because of the location of the bridge, it will not impede access for first responders.

Emergency services have been informed, and the MD states it will assist industry users in re-routing if necessary.

The bridge is approximately 4 km west of the south access to the Beaver River trestle bridge.
