BONNYVILLE - The Bonnyville Health Foundation (BHF) hosted a sunny outdoor reprieve and gourmet lunch for over 140 staff from the Bonnyville Health Centre and Bonnyville Medical Clinic staff last week, celebrating workers' contributions to the safety of the community throughout the pandemic.

Gifts were also handed out during the event on Wednesday, including a variety of self-care items purchased from local businesses.

"The past 18 months have been challenging for everyone and the BHF Directors, along with generous corporate sponsors, believed it was imperative to publicly thank the physicians, nurses, therapists, hospitality services staff, maintenance technicians, diagnostic imaging staff, volunteers, administrators and many others for their role in providing top-notch medical care in our Health Centre and Medical Clinic," according to information from the BHF.

“We owe each of them our deepest gratitude for their bravery, their sacrifices, and their endless compassion,” said Guy Vincent, board chair with the BHF.

The foundation had to postpone its 2020 gala event, but sponsors were more than eager to step forward to reallocate sponsorships to thank health care workers.

"With the support of our community, we can continue our mission to transform good healthcare to great healthcare for the Bonnyville Health Centre," according to the foundation.
