IRON RIVER – Rocky Meadows Country Get-Away hosted its third annual Country Christmas Market, complete with sleigh rides, free hot chocolate and coffee to enjoy around a campfire, a Christmas market, and a visit from Santa Claus.
The owner of Rocky Meadows, Lori Toker, said the idea to start a Christmas market came from a friend, and she has run with the idea, creating a holiday event the community can come and enjoy.
Toker feels this event is a way to give back to her community – a “Christmas gift for everybody,” and said she enjoys seeing the same families return, as well as getting the chance to see new families.
The market kept its focus on featuring local handcrafted artisans, and included holiday decor, cards, and treats, as well as preserves, dog treats, croqueted items, and more.
Two picture-perfect palomino horses, named Skeeter and Fly, gave attendees the opportunity to go dashing through the snow, with teamster Warren Garnier at the reins.
