LAKELAND - A minivan reported stolen from St. Paul was located in Bonnyville just hours later.
On Nov. 4, the vehicle was reported stolen at 11 a.m. That same afternoon at about 3 p.m., RCMP in Bonnyville noticed the van as it was pulling away from a residence.
"The Cold Lake GIS Unit and the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit were in the area and assisted Bonnyville RCMP," according to information from Bonnyville RCMP.
The van was followed to a local restaurant on 50th Ave in Bonnyville where it parked.
Two women exited the van and were immediately arrested by RCMP who had converged on the scene.
Ariel Knight, 30, of Cold Lake was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest. She was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace and is set to appear in court on Nov. 19.
The other woman was released from custody without charges.
