Suspicious vehicle report leads to arrests in MD of Bonnyville

BONNYVILLE - A report of a suspicious vehicle in the MD of Bonnyville resulted in charges against three people.

On Oct. 26 at 8:25 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious truck. The truck had allegedly been "wandering around various rural properties and caught the eye of homeowners in the area," according to police. 

RCMP determined the truck was stolen and the vehicle was reported to be stuck in the bush. 

"Witnesses reported seeing three suspects fleeing from the truck. RCMP located and arrested two suspects hiding nearby and a third was located and arrested the following day by Lac La Biche RCMP." 

Keith Cardinal, 38, and Savanna Waskahat, 29, both of Lac La Biche, have been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and one count under $5,000.

Cardinal has also been charged with mischief under $5,000. 

Gui Mountain, 33, of Beaver Lake, was also charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and assault with a weapon. 

"All three accused were released from custody and are due to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Nov. 26," according to RCMP.
