Overview
The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of camp programming and administration, by providing a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for our youth. The Executive Director will ensure the quality of our youth programming through mentorship, skill development, and supervision. The Director will be a role model and mentor, offering support to the staff and campers in an effort to ensure an effective and harmonious environment that enhances the camper experience, and promotes respect for self, respect for others and respect for God.
Key Responsibilities:
Camp Management
- Oversee all camp business, including registrations, promotion, food services, human resources, etc.
- Model a conscious effort to live a lifestyle that sets a positive example for counselors and campers.
- Directly supervise, schedule, and coordinate Camp St. Louis staff including, but not limited to, the counselors, cooks, and any volunteers.
- To work closely with the Spiritual Director to ensure healthy and balanced Catholic theology while also guiding the TEAM in their spiritual and faith development.
- Ensure all Camp St. Louis Policies are implemented and followed.
Administrative:
- Work closely with the administration of the Diocese of St. Paul, in particular the Finance Department, in the overall administration of the Camp. This includes creating and monitoring the annual budget, managing the screening and documentation of staff and volunteers, hiring personnel, applying for grants and subsidies, overseeing the development of promotional materials and initiatives, and organizing daily staff and safety meetings.
Supervision:
- Actively engage and monitor all camp program employees, identifying strengths and weaknesses and provide the appropriate support, training and mentoring in accordance with the policies of Camp St. Louis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three years management/supervisory experience
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with productivity software such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite
- Competent in developing and maintaining a budget
- Ability to plan, organize and carryout daily, weekly and special programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of management and administrative techniques to supervise staff
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, conflict resolution skills, and ability to work within a team.
- Provide and maintain an acceptable Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Record assessment
Preferred Skills-Attributes
- Education and/or experience in business or administration
- Certification within First Aid/CPR
- Fluent in both French and English
- Volunteered at your local parish
- Letter of support from your current Parish Priest
