COLD LAKE - The City of Cold Lake held their annual Canada Day festivities, but this year it was more than just about celebrating being Canadian.
With a moment of silence, speeches from Cold Lake First Nations elders and council members, those in attendance reflected on the unmarked graves found a residential schools across the country. Those in attendance were encouraged to wear orange in solidarity.
Part of the day's activities included glitter tattoos, bouncy castles, a vendor market, a fly-by by 4 Wing Cold Lake, live music, and much more.
