Edmonton residents arrested following drug trafficking investigation in Cold Lake

RCMP locate 45 pre-packaged baggies of suspected cocaine, arrest two people following months-long investigation in Cold Lake.

COLD LAKE - A months-long drug trafficking investigation by RCMP ended on Nov. 6 when two men were arrested on Lakeshore Drive in Cold Lake North.

With the assistance of the ALERT, Cold Lake RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) began an investigation into cocaine trafficking activities in early 2024.

"A search was conducted on a motor vehicle in relation to the arrest, where 45 pre-packaged baggies of suspected cocaine were located, along with Canadian currency," according to information from Cold Lake RCMP.

Oswaldo-Jose Chanchan Osorno, 30, from Edmonton, has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance

Chanchan Osorno was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on a release order. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.

Domingo Moneny, 38 and also a resident of Edmonton was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.

Moneny was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a release order. He is schedule to appear in court on Nov. 27 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.
