COLD LAKE - An emergency response exercise is being planned for Nov. 18 over the course of a full day, which will include an on-base explosive ordinance disposal emergency situation, according to information from 4 Wing Cold Lake.

The exercise will take place within the Bark Park and Archery Range at 4 Wing, and will require areas to be cordoned off.

"It is for training purposes and the explosive device is not armed or dangerous," reads information from 4 Wing Cold Lake. "The Fire Chief, Health Services and the Military Police will be participating in this exercise."

The public can expect some interruptions when accessing 4 Wing for services on Nov. 18, and higher than normal activity and noise in some locations may occur.

This type of training is not meant to disrupt the public, but is "an essential training requirement for our members and the community to be prepared in the case of a real life situation," according to the information from 4 Wing Cold Lake.
